This is the research i've come up so far.
How Has the weather changed over the past few years?
- Average Temperature = 25 - 31 degrees Celsius
- Thunderstorm 40% of 365 days
- Relative humidity = 70% - 80%
- Warmest/ Coolest/ Wettest/ - April/ January/ November
- Average rainfall per year = 2342.2mm
- Lowest temperature, in Jan 31, 1934 = 19.4 degrees Celsius
- Highest temperature, in Mar 26, 1998 = 36 degrees Celsius
- Average humidity level = 84.2%
How has the pH level of water affected the nature reserve/animals?
- Acid rain lowers pH level of the soil to as low as 3. Thus, washing away nutrients our of the soil and damages the plant. Vegetation recovery there will be difficult.
- Many plants grow in specific pH levels. Thus, soil is a important factor for their ecosystem and as many animals only eat specific plants.
- Soil pH level affects the nutrients available in the soil. More nutrient availability increase plant growth and food supply to animals.
- Increased nutrient availability increases nutrient supply within the plant. Animals consuming the plant would require less plant material for their nutritional needs. Thus, allowing animals to grow faster and increase their population.
